Rebecca M. Shanaman

Rebecca M. Shanaman is experienced in negotiating and closing sophisticated commercial and residential real estate acquisitions and sales. She is skilled at negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements and completing due diligence investigations, including complicated title and survey review. Rebecca has drafted and negotiated complex office and retail leases on behalf of tenants and institutional landlords, including the owners of several high rise buildings located in the Chicago loop and the largest office complex in Indianapolis. She has represented and counseled commercial landlords on a variety of ownership related issues. Rebecca is also experienced in advising clients as to the legal implications of transactions and strategizing with them on a wide variety of real estate issues, including complex cross easements and tenant related concerns.

She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from LaSalle University. Rebecca is a graduate of York Catholic High School. Before moving back to the area, she served as a member of the Junior Associate Board with City Year Chicago and as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Creative York, whose mission is to nurture imagination, creativity and innovation in the community. Rebecca lives in York with with her husband and their two children.
