Mark D. Evans

I am a member of Stock and Leader's Business and Employment, Municipal, and School Law Practice Groups, concentrating my practice in counseling public and private employers in all aspects of labor and employment law.

In my role as employment law counselor, I advise clients on compliance with all labor and employment laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, National Labor Relations Act, and employment discrimination laws. I advise employers regarding unemployment compensation tax and eligibility issues, and represent employers before all levels of the unemployment compensation system.

In addition to my employment law practice, I represent healthcare clients, providing guidance on the wide range regulatory and compliance concerns faced in healthcare, including HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance. I also assist clients in securing federal protection for their trademarks.

Prior to joining Stock and Leader, I served as in-house counsel for Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, a highly regulated healthcare and social services non-profit with operations in Pennsylvania and Maryland. I advised all levels of the organization regarding legal and regulatory compliance issues, such as compliance with federal and state healthcare and employment laws. My responsibilities further included drafting and negotiating contracts on behalf of the organization and drafting and implementing corporate policies.
