State of NC v. Scott C.
Nov 07, 2022
OUTCOME: NOT GUILTY
JURY TRIAL: Our client was accused of very serious felony assault charges which if convicted could have landed him in prison for more than 15 years. This case took approximately two and a half years ...before finally making it to trial. From the time we were retained, up until the time of trial, we spent many hours drafting and filing motions, sending out subpoenas, and ensuring we had all case discovery, as well as statements from the many officers and witnesses involved in the case. We retained the services of an expert who played a crucial role in our client's defense.
Due to the complexity of the case, amount of evidence, number of officers, witnesses, and expert witnesses involved, our trial lasted six days. After our six day trial, we are pleased that the Jury’s verdict was NOT GUILTY.
