The mother lied to the father and told him that their child had died when the child was an infant. The child's custody was transferred multiple times to the maternal grandmother (MGM). The father's pat ... ernity was established when the child was 13. He was ordered to pay retroactive child support (RCS) to the MGM upon the juvenile court's finding that Tenn. Code Ann. § 36-2-311(a)(11)(A) was inapplicable. On appeal, the could found that based on the statutory factors and the "equity between the parties" under Tenn. Code Ann. § 36-5-101(e)(1)(A), the award of RCS was error.
