Jamie Francois lived and worked on his family’s dairy farm in rural Chetek, Wisconsin. On May 19, 2010, Francois was headed west on County Road D, in front of the farm, on the family’s John Deere 2840, ... which dated from the late 1970’s. At the intersection, as Francois attempted a left-hand turn, the tractor was struck by a fully-loaded milk truck attempting to pass the tractor at the intersection. Francois sustained lift-threatening injuries and was air-lifted to Region’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, for an emergency decompressive craniectomy. Other injuries included two collapsed lungs, numerous rib fractures, lacerated spleen, and a lacerated liver. A portion of his skull was removed and he was later fitted with a cranioplasty implant. http://www.chetekalert.com/news/top_stories/article_756f0fa2-dc09-11e1-b839-0019bb2963f4.html?TNNoMobile
