In a disputed case with a chapter 13 trustee, I obtained a ruling that the bankruptcy debtor may pay a long-term student loan directly and not through the trustee. In some cases, this allows more to b ... e paid on the student loan. This can be good for the debtor because student loans are usually not discharged in bankruptcy.
