I obtained a decision from the New Jersey Supreme Court that landlords can be required to report the race of their applicants and tenants to the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights so that rental prope ... rties can be monitored for possible race discrimination.

In an important decicsion regarding race discrimination in employment, I and Rose Legal Advocate, which I supported, were successful in securing a court ruling that overturned a residency requirement w ... hich had been imposed by this Fire Department for firefighter positions. We successfully argued that such a residency requirment had a discriminatory impact by excluding not only non-residents, but also well-qualified African-Americans who otherwise would be eligible for jobs as firefighters.

In this important appellate decision regarding New Jersey's Whistleblower Law, Fredda Katcoff, of my firm, and I represented the employee and obtained an appellate court decision upholding the $960,000 ... judgment which had been awarded to him at trial. The appellate decision established new law under that state statute as to the proof an employee must provide to show he or she reasonably believed that there was a violation of law and as to the statute's requirement that the employee report certain violations internally to the employer before reporting them to government. The Appellate Division also awarded the employee $100,000 in attorney's fees.
OUTCOME: Plaintiff won.
This was a significant appellate court decision obtained by Fredda Katkoff, of my firm, and me, in which a jury finding that the school district was liable for failing to provide academic accommmodatio ... ns to the student on account of his disability. The court rejected the defendants' argument that the plaintiff's academic success negated their liaiblity. On later remand to the trial court, there was a ruling that permitted the $250,000 discrimination verdict in plaintiff's favor to stand.
OUTCOME: Plailntiffs won.
In this landmark impoundment decision, I obtained rulings from the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals directing the President of the United States to spend $239 million for summer employ ... ment for urban, disadvantaged young people, which had been appropriated by Congress for that purpose.
