An Eastern District of Louisiana jury unanimously found that Siemens Industry Inc. is not liable for a $2.6 million wrongful death award following a deadly molten steel eruption allegedly linked to equ ... ipment designed by the company’s predecessor. The jury determined that ArcelorMittal LLC employee Samuel Moyer’s death could not be blamed on design defects in a ladle transfer car and argon stir station. While the jury awarded Moyer’s widow $2.6 million, it allocated all liability to nonparties.
