OUTCOME: Client entered into an agreement to improve recordkeeping practices but otherwise no action was taken against client. Client's staff privileges remained intact.

My client faced disciplinary action and a possible loss of staff privileges due to disputes the client had with the hospital adminsitration. The disputes involved the client's recordkeeping as well as ... the client's ability to get along with members of hospital administration. I worked with the client and the hospital administration to resolve the disoutes.

Physician Dispute with Medical Insurance Company

OUTCOME: Claims against my client were dismissed with prejudice and with no admissions of liability.

Medical insurance company audited client's billing practices for certain services provided by client to patients. Audit focused on the 'upcoding' of certain services. Insurance company demanded a sig ... nificant repayment of alleged overcharges and eventually filed an action against my client. I negotiated a settlement with the insurance company which resulted in a significant reduction of the amount demanded and a payment plan for the reduced amount.

Professional License Defense-Real Estate Appraiser-Continuing Education Audit

OUTCOME: Client entered into a consent order and has complied with all of the terms. As a result client is fully able to practice as a real estate appraiser.

Client was accused of falsifying records of attendance at required continuing education courses. I negotiated a settlement with the licensing board which resulted in a greatly lowered penalty.

Professional License Defense-Dentist Misconduct

OUTCOME: The original proposed penatly included a two year active license suspension. After negotiations, the active suspsension was reduced to three months, with a probabtionary period which did not restrict my client's ability to practice.

My client, a New Jersey dentist, was accused of misconduct by his licensing board. An employee was stealing prescription blanks and using them to obtain prescription painkillers. I worked with the cl ... ient and the licensing board to reduce the proposed penalties, which included both a monetary penalty and a suspension of practice.
