This was an intriguing jury trial held before Judge Ernest Alvino in Woodbury, NJ. My client, Ivory "One Round" Johnson, was 78 years old at the time the trial took place. The trial lasted 4 weeks, and ... One Round was accused of killing a 26 year old man named Eugene Wharton. The apparent motive? They both were dating the same girl. Her age? She was 18 years old. It was a wild trial and took four weeks. I have written an entire chapter about this trial in my upcoming autobiography. The prosecution that they had a slam dunk case against One Round. Oh, by the way, the reason he was nicknamed "One Round" was because he was a boxer, and he got that nickname from Al Capone. It would take too much time to detail everything about this lengthy trial in this short space. Suffice it to say that the prosecution was very surprised that their anticipate slam took, was far from what they expected it to be.
