Biography
Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, Jaclyn M. Nichols graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Upon completing her undergraduate education, she obtained her Paralegal Certification from Duquesne University during the summer of 2012. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she was awarded her Juris Doctor degree in 2016.
While attending Pitt Law, Jaclyn clerked for the Honorable Mary Jane Bowes of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. During her last year of law school, Jaclyn participated in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Family Law Clinic, where she assisted pro se litigants with family-law issues primarily involving custody, child support, and paternity, as well as secondary family-law issues. After graduating from Pitt Law in 2016, Jaclyn joined the Law Office of Matthew R. Zatko in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, where she gained extensive experience with complex divorce, support and custody litigation, termination of parental rights, adoption, criminal defense, estate planning and guardianship matters in Somerset and the surrounding counties. She has been appointed by the Court of Common Pleas of Somerset County to serve as defense counsel and also as Guardian Ad Litem for incapacitated persons and children. In 2017, Jaclyn formed the Law Office of Jaclyn M. Nichols, Esq.
Jaclyn is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Somerset County Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association.
