Reversal of NSA Clearance Denial

On April 30, 2014, after hearing oral argument presented by Thomas G. Coale on behalf of the applicant, the National Security Agency Access Appeal Panel reversed the Agency’s decision to revoke the App ... licant’s SCI Clearance. The original decision was premised on allegations under Guideline E (Personal Conduct) regarding the handling of confidential information and accusations by past coworkers about the applicant’s character and judgment. Mr. Coale was able to successfully argue that a long-term history of good character, strong judgment, and prudence in the handling of protected material outweighed select instances from a limited group of interviewees.
