The Milwaukee County District Attorney's office filed an appeal to the Court of Appeals after the trial court granted my Padilla motion for ineffective assistance of counsel. The Wisconsin Court of Ap ... peals ruled in our favor and found that the defendant's previous criminal defense attorney was ineffective. As a result, our client is now eligible for relief before the immigration court and we were able to argue bail successfully before the immigration judge.

Wisconsin Court of Appeals case where the Appeals Court agreed with my argument that the trial court did not advise my client appropriately of the immigration consequences of his guilty plea. The case ... was remanded to the trial court and i was able to cause the DA's office to amend the charges and my client plead guilty to the amended charges. As a result, my client was in removal proceedings in Chicago, IL and we are in the process of re-obtaining his permanent resience status.
