Published opinion October 12, 1994 188 Wis. 2d 324 Former boyfriend sued former girlfriend for conversion of engagement ring and wedding band, ... and former girlfriend counterclaimed for unjust enrichment during period of unmarried cohabitation. The Circuit Court, entered judgment in favor of former girlfriend. Appeal was taken. The Court of Appeals held that: (1) former girlfriend's allegations that her uncompensated housekeeping efforts made in contemplation of marriage conferred benefit upon former boyfriend were insufficient to state unjust enrichment claim, and (2) any employment opportunities foregone by former girlfriend during period of unmarried cohabitation with former boyfriend were not relevant to her claim of unjust enrichment.
