D. Scott Lautner

I made the mistake of retaining D Scott Lautner to represent me in a federal employment discrimination case. I paid him a $1500.00 retainer. This Attorney did nothing for me in my case, just " Lip Service". When I complained to him about not doing anything, he quit my case. However, he kept, or... in my opinion "stole" my retainer. He never even attempted to give a portion of it back. He literally took the money and ran. He is one of the worst Attorneys I have ever had contact with. This is solely based on my experience with D Scott Lautner and strictly just my opinion. Before you hire this Attorney, I suggest you do your due diligence and research before you make the same mistake I did.

Lautner was very late with all tasks, the level of communication was below minimal. Mail and calls unanswered. He was incompetent at some aspects of liquidating the estate and then lied about it in emails. And, he charged a whopping $20,000 for this absolutely minimal work. He became childishly petul...ant when challenged about his competence. I am only giving him one star because there is no option for zero stars

I hired Scott for my divorce. My ex was removed on a PFA, because of dragging his feet and bleeding me financially, I am still going through hell. Divorce should have been filed in 2011 when I retained him. But dragged it out until the end of 2012. I am still not divorced because I am trying to undo ...many of the things he should have taken care of, 3500.00 paid and nothing to show for it. Never returns calls and tells you what you want to hear just to get by. When his retainer runs out, you will see the true attorney. Highly DON'T recommend.

My now ex husband hired him to represent him in a 1st offense minor dug arrest. he postponed for many months until her got paid all his fees then told this permanent resident w children in this country to take a plea deal. he told this good man and great father that if he plead guilty he would ...get ARD /boot camp. Once he plead guilty he was sent to prison and deported because this [ i use this word loosely] lawyer told him it would be fine and he would b out in few months to boot camp. He never responded to my calls since i have power of attorney now and my daughter lost her father to deportation because this man said he should take the deal. this wonderful,hard working,loving father will never see his children again thanks to this lawyer.

Bad NEWS! This guy is so bad I ended up negotiating my divorce with my Ex-wife and her attorney directly. This guy could not negotiate visitation terms or even win a simple case involving transportation. He would NEVER return phone calls, never return e-mails, and never consult with you about your ca...se, strategy, or anything. He's horrible at answering our questions (HUGE ego problem - God Complex). He would never call you to let you know what happened in court when he would represent you in your absence. He is a rogue attorney who goes off and files things (whenever he gets around to it - When he feels like it) without your knowledge or permission. He even screwed up my custody case wherein my daughter had been sexually assaulted in her home by waiting for months too long to file any paperwork. The Judge yelled at him about this in court! This guy could not win his way out of a wet paper bag let alone ANY case in court! He's a useless waste of Oxygen! Please do not waste your money on this Bad, Bad, Bad Lawyer!!! Needless to say, I ended up firing his butt after I had finally had enough. I'm considering reporting this clown to the state ethics board and the Allegheny County Bar Association for his clearly demonstrated poor ethics, misrepresentation, misconduct, manipulation and theft by deception. At times during my divorce, I believed he was possibly working for apposing counsel. That should NEVER be the case. I always felt as though my case did not matter to him. All he was ever interested in was money, and how he could get more out of my pocket. Slick talker when it comes to getting you to pay him but once he has your money, he turns into a ghost in the fog. If you hire this guy (even to wash your kids bicycle) you will end up regretting it!!! Trust me, I've Been there, Done that (over a few years), and glad I fired him!! He does NOTHING honorably!
