Biography
Richard represents clients in state and federal court in a wide variety of civil cases, including matters relating to federal false claims, employment discrimination, intellectual property (copyright and patent), real estate disputes, and consumer protection. Richard also counsels clients in transactional and regulatory matters, including in the registration of trademarks and copyright license agreements, and serving as general counsel for a limited partnership.
Richard started his career as a clerk on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Richard recently provided guidance to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance, reviewing disaster assistance loans for individuals and small businesses.
Richard also has provided pro bono legal representation to persons sued by student loan collection agencies, and is a registered Mediator with the Federal Court in Pittsburgh. Richard has taught continuing legal education courses in ethics, insurance, and data privacy matters for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the National Business Institute.
