Kurt F. Fernsler

Kurt is a shareholder attorney at Saxton & Stump, working from the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He is a member of the Construction, Construction Litigation, and Commercial Litigation groups, bringing over 25 years of experience representing general contractors, subcontractors, and owners throughout the entire construction process. Kurt guides them through every phase, from contract negotiations and bidding to dispute resolution, both in and out of the courtroom.

He counsels clients through mechanics’ liens, performance and bond payment issues, and claims related to delays, acceleration, inefficiencies, and construction defects. He represents clients in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and has appeared before the Pennsylvania Board of Claims.

In addition to his construction practice, Kurt also advises clients on a range of legal matters, including general business and corporate issues, labor and employment concerns, and various real estate transactions.

An active member of the Pittsburgh community, Kurt serves as vice president of the Pennsylvania Builders Exchange, a nonprofit organization supporting the construction industry.

Kurt has earned recognition for his professional achievements, being named to the Best Lawyers in America® every year since 2013 and appearing on the Pennsylvania “Super Lawyers” list from 2010 to 2018.

He holds a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
