Jay A. Blechman

Jay A. Blechman, Past President of the Allegheny County Bar Association is the owner of the Pittsburgh firm of Steiner & Blechman, LLC. Blechman is a Past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is the Past President of the Metropolitan Bar Caucus an affiliated organization of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. He has served on the Pennsylvania Bar Institue Board of Directors.   He served a two year term as Treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and has twice served three year terms on its Family Law Section Governing Council. Blechman has served as the PBA Liaison to the Section. He is also a Past Chair of the ACBA Children’s Issues Committee, the Family Law Section Program Committee, the Family Law Section Public Service Committee, and the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Committee on Children at Risk. Blechman was a long-term a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Finance Committee, on which he has served as the Vice-Chair. He served as the Chair of the Bills Committee, reviewing all expenses of the ACBA. He also served on the Headquarters Committee.  He has served as a member of the Allegheny County Indigent Divorce Program Task Force. He has previously served on the Board of Governors of ACBA Services, Inc./Proliance, Inc.  He has served, for many years, as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Governing Council. He has written for the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer and served as a News Section Co-editor. He also served two three year terms as a Delegate to the PBA House of Delegates and served a one year term as the PBA Family Law Section Delegates. Blechman is the Past Chair of the PBA Family Law Section Continuing Legal Education Program Committee. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section and lectures frequently on family law topics. Blechman has been listed in the Best Lawyers of America since 2009 and in Super Lawyers since 2008. He received his B.S. in Commerce with high honor from DePaul University, and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
