ERIC G. SOLLER, serves as the Chair of the firms' Commercial Litigation Practice Group and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. Eric concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation and complex business litigation.

While at University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Soller was the Special Projects Editor of its Law Review. Mr. Soller served as an Assistant District Attorney in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In that position, he tried dozens of felony and misdemeanor cases to verdict before both juries and judges. He has successfully litigated numerous cases in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County and Washington County, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He has also represented clients before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh and Federal Circuits, as well as the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts.
Mr. Soller has represented clients in a myriad of intellectual property litigation matters. He is currently representing clients in patent infringement cases in the Western District of Pennsylvania (Lambeth Magnetic Structures, LLC v. Seagate Technology (US) Holdings, Inc. et al., No. 2:16-cv-00538-CB; Westinghouse Electric Corporation LLC v. Zetec, Inc., No. 2:13-cv-1124-NBF; Ravo v. Covidien LP, 2:11-cv-01637-JFC; Kennametal Inc. v. Betek GmbH & Co.; 2:14-cv-01383-AJS; and Drone Technologies, Inc. v. Parrot S.A., 2:14-cv-00111-AJS). He has tried patent infringement cases to verdict, conducted claim construction (Markman) hearings and represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is currently representing clients in trademark infringement cases in the Western District of Pennsylvania (Butala v. Preston, 2:12-cv-00263-DSC; and Kennametal Inc. v. Greenfield Industries Inc., 2:14-cv-00598-NBF).
Mr. Soller successfully argued on behalf of Appellants in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court case of Schwartz v. Rockey, 593 Pa. 536; 932 A.2d 885; 2007 Pa. LEXIS 2177, which defined the standard for an award of treble damages under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, as well as establishing the standard in Pennsylvania for the election of damages versus equitable remedies.
He is a member of the American, Federal Circuit, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Allegheny County Bar Associations. In addition, he is a founding member of the Western District of Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Inn of Court and is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Soller has presented at various Pennsylvania Bar Institute Continuing Legal Education programs on topics including e-Discovery, cross-examination techniques and Officer and Director Liability.
Mr. Soller is a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. He is also the Chair of the St. Anthony School Programs Charitable Foundation Board, which aims to provide an academic course of studies and vocational training for students with intellectual disabilities.
Mr. Soller also received the Nora Barry Fischer Award for 2013. The Nora Barry Fischer Award serves to recognize an attorney within the Firm who has given back to the legal profession and the community at large.
