Jennifer Jara Mislanovich is an associate specializing in civil litigation, including business disputes, debt collection and Allegheny County assessment appeals.
She is licensed by the State Court of Pennsylvania and will be practicing primarily in civil litigation, with an emphasis on Pennsylvania personal injury law,medical malpractice, business litigation, debt collection, real estate and property tax assessment appeals.
Ms. Mislanovich graduated from Duquesne University, cum laude, with a B.S. in Economics. While at Duquesne, she was a member of the Honors College, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Beta Alpha Phi Honorary Business Society, and Golden Key International Honor Society.
Ms. Mislanovich received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and took a special interest in trial advocacy by participating in the Appellate Moot Court and Murray S. Love Trial Moot Court. She also helped indigent senior citizens in Allegheny County by participating in the Pittsburgh Elder Law Clinic.
She has significant experience with business litigation and, in particular, debt collectionthroughout the state of Pennsylvania. She has handled cases in more than half of the 67 counties in Pennsylvania and has spent considerable time ensuring that our firm is compliant with local rules in each of the counties.
She is well versed in transferring and executing upon judgments and is responsible for managing the firm’s contact with key clients including student loan agencies, mortgage companies and banks from across the United States. She is our lead contact person for clients involving major banks and student loan agencies from both Texas and Colorado.
Over the last two years, she has had great success with our residential and commercial clients in significantly reducing their residential and commercial property taxes. She has extensive experience both at the administrative level and at the county level board of Viewers concerning tax appeals. Ms. Jara has also successfully defended numerous property tax appeals filed by the school districts and other taxing entities.
Most recently, she has begun serving as an arbitrator in the civil division of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny and is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
On a personal note, she was married recently and enjoys concerts, movies, and spending time with friends and family.
