My legal career began 25 years ago when I became a paralegal after I graduated from the University of Michigan and returned to my hometown, Pittsburgh, PA. I worked investigating serious injuries caused by asbestos: Mesothelioma, Asbestos Related Lung Cancer and Asbestosis. I participated in pioneering Mass Consolidated Asbestos Cases and programmed evidentiary databases of asbestos products by manufacturer, brand, and site to efficiently analyze volumes of testimony, invoices and other discovery materials into useable information to prove exposure to asbestos containing products at jobsites in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.
After Law School, I was in charge of 3,200 consolidated asbestos cases in Saginaw, Michigan. I was responsible for defending the majority of the depositions that took place, all discovery, motion practice, trial and ultimately, the successful conclusion of all 3,200 cases. During this time period I defended more than 400 depositions of former foundry plant workers against more than 50 asbestos companies, at the same time, to prove their injuries from presence of asbestos at work.
Returning to Pittsburgh, PA in 1999, I handled all aspects of the West Virginia litigation jurisdiction of the largest pioneering asbestos practice in the Southwestern Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia. In addition, I handled matters in many of the courts of Western Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Beaver, Butler and Washington Counties.
I went from Paralegal to Shareholder, learning every aspect of the legal business from the inside to the outside, from the bottom to the top.
I investigated hundreds of Mesothelioma and Asbestos cancer cases from client sign-up to successful conclusion of a lawsuit and distribution of the lawsuit proceeds to victims or their families.
Eager to give clients of devastating , serious injury and illnesses, like Mesothelioma and criminal matters more personal attention, I opened the Law Offices of Lee W. Davis, Esquire, L.L.C. in 2013.
