Avoid this Firm

Sean, At this point, I will no longer be using your firm’s services. Over the course of this case, I have invested tens of thousands of dollars into legal representation, and I am extremely disappointed in the level of service, communication, and advocacy I have received from both you and James.... James has effectively stopped advocating for my case. He has refused to defend me in court, becomes defensive when I correct inaccuracies or gaps in his understanding of my case, and has failed to follow through on important matters that have been discussed for months. For example, the issue regarding my child needing therapy was raised over two months ago, yet opposing counsel still has not been properly engaged on that matter. I have repeatedly asked questions about my case and raised concerns about missed deadlines, lack of communication, and accountability. Instead of addressing those concerns professionally, James told me to fire him. When I continued asking legitimate questions, you responded similarly. That response is unacceptable and disappointing, especially knowing that I’ve invested at least $40,000 in your firm to help me fight to keep my rights as a father. If I pay for a service, and that service isn’t done to my expectation, I have a right to express my concerns. Communication from your firm has been consistently poor. Calls routinely take one to two weeks to receive, responses to emails often take over a week, and deadlines are continually handled at the last possible moment. I have been asking about school-related changes since before November, and despite that, no hearing date has even been requested. What is most concerning is that I am now being made to feel as though I must somehow convince your firm to represent me properly, despite the fact that I have done nothing wrong as a client. Meanwhile, your firm recently missed a deadline entirely and had to reimburse me as a result. Because of your firm’s lack of performance, lack of communication, and inability to properly manage this case, I now have to start over with new counsel. That means paying another firm thousands of dollars to relearn a case your office should already have been handling competently. I find the conduct and lack of actual counsel from your firm appalling, and I no longer have confidence in your ability to represent me effectively moving forward. Please consider this email notice that I am terminating your firm’s representation effective immediately. I also request that my complete client file be prepared and transferred promptly to my new counsel once their information is provided. Michael
