In 2016 my child's father filed to change our joint physical and legal custody order to primary physical and legal custody. I wanted a local attorney and not a large firm where in the past it felt as if I got lost in the crowd. Devin was referred to me by my father's church. With every hearing and situation that arose she offered me choices and explained in detail the ramifications and costs of all avenues. When I voiced a strong opinion on a subject she followed my lead but did not hesitate to explain any issues she might have with the direction I wished to go in. She did not just assist me in the court filings and appearances but provided referrals for adolescent counseling for my child and correspondence with opposing counsel to help limit any unnecessary communication between myself and my child's father, which was often volatile no matter how I tried to temper it. In 2018 the custody trial was postponed due to outside circumstances that would not be considered typical in a custody case. Devin advised and helped me and my child navigate this and at times scary landscape always advocating for me and the safety of my child. My child now lives with me full time and we both finally have the peace of mind to plan for a bright future. The years within the family court system were stressful to say the least, but Devin was a calming voice in stormy weather. I highly recommend her for family law as she is insightful, detailed and very caring.
