Virginia A. Tesi

I have worked with Virginia Tesi of Marcus Orkin Tesi, LLP for over a year and a half now on three real estate transactions and I was extremely disappointed overall. Virginia Tesi was recommended to me by my real estate agent when I was purchasing my current house. My experience with her this first t...ime around was fine, in that we didn't need to have much interaction. In the communications I had with her she was a bit short and seemed annoyed with my questions (over email). My next interaction with her, while I was selling the house I still owned at the time, was by far the worst. The sale faced many issues and she was not responsible for most of those BUT she failed in her role as my lawyer! She rarely communicated with me, leaving me in the dark many times and forcing me to try to "track her down" to get questions answered. When she did communicate, she was short, dismissive, made me feel stupid, and rarely fully answered my questions. She made almost no effort to make sure I understand the process and because of her, there were unnecessary delays and nearly the loss of significant revenue. My last interaction with her was when I refinanced the mortgage on my current home (I wouldn't have chosen to work with her in this matter, if I had a choice) and again, she made things more difficult by not clearly communicating, except in one occasion in which we were face to face (on zoom). After the mortgage had closed, I got an email from her office stating I still owed taxes from closing, which she never told me about prior to closing. I think that Ms. Tesi could be a good lawyer and perhaps is a good lawyer for those who are willing to push back on her and remind her of her duties and ask a lot of questions and demand answers! All told, I paid Ms. Tesi quite a lot of money and it's not clear to me what work she actually did (almost all of the tasks that were done, were done by others in her office). It also seems that others in her office have followed her lead in that the other main person I worked with (her assistant I believe), was also dismissive and short with me and did not clearly communicate on multiple occasions.
