Katrina helped us with the purchase and then the subsequent sale of our house in Ithaca. When things started to go wrong she stepped in and personaly got the deal back on track. Katrina represented my partner and I with the sale of our home, as well as the construction of our current home. With the sale of our home, the first set of buyers backed out of the deal a week before the closing. She kept us calm and took the time to explain our options. We had a trip planned... the same week that we put our house back on the market. My partner and I felt so confident in Katrina, we gave her power of attorney to negotiate for us if any offers should come in while we were away and not reachable via phone. Halfway through our vacation we received an email from Katrina to inform us that she had accepted a nearly full price offer and closing would be in 40 days (this was wonderful considering we now had 2 mortgages)!! Katrina also reviewed the contract to build our current home. She made modifications to the contract during attorney review that in the end really protected us! The day of the closing, the house was not absolutely complete, the driveway was not paved, the lawn was not seeded, and the carpet wasn't installed properly. Although the builder did not want to, Katina strongly negotiated a large sum of funds to be put into a escrow account (held at her office) until the work was done. When we walked out of the closing, I knew every measurement was taken to protect our investment. I even think she may have taught our real estate agent a few things as well! After the lawn was seeded and the driveway paved, Katrina gave us a call to make sure we were happy. I really felt like she cared and wasn't in it just for a check. Family members and friends have also used Katrina for real estate transactions, to do their wills and adoptions. Everyone that I have ever recommended her to has been extremely impressed and continue to recommend her as well. Katrina is honest, has high integrity, and excellent overall service. She truly goes the extra mile!! I would highly recommend her for any of your legal needs!!

Katrina Thaler Medeiros is an amazing lawyer, and an incredible person. She was recommended to me by four people while trying to purchase my first home. I called around to many lawyers in Ithaca to get an idea of the standard representation charge. Katrina had a solid price. Most practices gave me a ...standard range of $725- $1300 "depending on what's needed for closing." I found that with most practices that I contacted I was not able to speak with the lawyers themselves. I spoke with Katrina two times on the phone before making a final decision. I choose Katrina feeling confident that I would be well represented, and I was. Katrina worked fast to ensure that all the basic purchase documents such as the survey, appraisal, and mortgage were correct. She worked for weeks answering my questions, and taking the time to explain everything that was going on currently, and what to expect in the future. It didn't matter if I emailed her or called she was friendly, and ready answers all my questions. The really amazing side of Katrina came out when it was just days before closing, and the seller was still out of the country, and looking to change the closing date. I had taken off work to be able to close and move that day, which was already days after our date in the contract. The seller then informed us that we could close on our the new set date, but would not be able to move out of the house for six days following. I was feeling very stressed as I listen to friends and coworkers horror stories about similar situations they had with this. Katrina handle the situation very well. She helped me feel calm and assured that everything would be fine, even though it was a bad situation for me. She put together an incredible contract to protect me. The house and myself were protected from any situations that could have arisen. Katrina was so personal, and understanding during the entire time from purchase to closing. I could not have had a better lawyer. I could not recommend any other lawyers. I was able to close on the set date, and move into my house with out any complications, because of Katrina's expertise. If you are looking for a lawyer to represent you in a residential real estate purchase purchase, than Katrina is who you want on your side. I am just glad that she was on my side!

We engaged Katrina on the recommendation of our real estate agent, and our experience with her has been very poor. She was hard to reach and unresponsive. It is hard to fully illustrate how bad this experience was. For example, only a few days before the original closing date we received a final s...ettlement with mathematical errors, documents were not yet prepared, and we had not heard anything from Katrina in multiple weeks. As a result, our closing has now been delayed twice. If it's delayed again, we will lose our rate lock with the bank and incur significant cost thanks to Katrina's poor work.
