Biography
Dr. Schneiderman is a member of Harris Beach PLLC and the Intellectual Property Practice Group. She also serves on the Nanotechnology, the Medical and Life Sciences, and the Science and Technology Commercialization Industry Teams. A biologist as well as a patent attorney, Dr. Schneiderman’s practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent procurement, opinion work and strategic planning, representing high technology clients in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, medical devices, environmental chemistry and agriscience. Dr. Schneiderman had a 20-year career as an academic research scientist and professor prior to practicing law. Her training in science (B.S. in biological sciences and Ph.D. in neurobiology) and law allows her to work closely with scientists, inventors and management teams in developing ideas into patentable inventions.
Prior to joining Harris Beach, Dr. Schneiderman was in private practice in Syracuse and Ithaca, New York and served as in-house legal and patent counsel for Advanced Design Consulting USA, Inc., a high technology engineering design consulting company in Lansing, New York. Prior to that, Dr. Schneiderman worked for six years in the biotechnology practice group of Pennie & Edmonds LLP. She practiced in the firm’s Silicon Valley and Manhattan offices, handling patent procurement, prosecution and counseling in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Prior to practicing law, Dr. Schneiderman was a developmental neurobiologist with academic appointments at Cornell University and Yale University.
Dr. Schneiderman has been selected for inclusion each year in Who's Who in America (since 2006), Who's Who in American Law (since 2007), and Who's Who in Science and Engineering (since 2007).
