I'm currently in court now and Karen madsen was appointed to me and the first court on 10-31-17 Karen never came out to talk to me never told me anything she sat in the court room the whole time and even in court she never voiced my choices or my opinions she kept telling me to stop talking kept tell...ing me to stop and knock it off and then after court I had tried calling her several times and it always went to the answering machine she never returned my calls she refused to tell me anything..... Also I found on Google that Karen Madsen I'd on suspension because she has failed as a lawyer to every client she had and also is on suspension for what she is doing in my case matter with my children I do not recommend her to anyone stay clear of this lawyer she will bring you down and you will not get anywhere with this lawyer...

Ms Madsen was assigned to me as a public defender in Penn Yan,village court under suspicious means in 2013. For a misdemeanor charge. She did not obtain any police reports,check or even ask about witnesses, verify facts at all. From day one she wanted me to plead guilty. Mess turned into separate fa...mily custody case,and again some how she was my lawyer. Would not defend me properly in this court either. I have asked to see my case files several times to no avail,never saw a said warrant for my arrest or any police reports. Refused to take ANY of my evidence to present to court..still have all documents that prove misconduct,and false documentation by PYPD. Strongly feel there is back door workings between Ms Madsen and village of PY. She never returned any of my phone calls,and I had to drive to her office to track her down. Appx 20 miles away. Ended up having nervous breakdown with all stress and followed her ORDERS to plead guilty and waive trial...kept telling me to forget everything and move on with my life. Lost very good retail management job because of pressure,in turn losing my house,child,all belongings in storage unit,forced to put down my dog of 14 yrs,because of homelessness. ....all over a misdemeanor incident. Steer WAY CLEAR OF THIS ATTORNEY. .She will ruin your life. More personal questions to prove legitimacy of this post are encouraged. I have been working very hard over the last few years to gather info on police officers involved,attorney MADSEN and public defenders office. For the record my wife ,charged with same offense was represented by assistant public defender,who worked VERY PROFESSIONALY and dillegenty demonstrated how full of holes accusations were and the state dropped charges at the time he said he would take it to trial. Ms Madsen for some strange reason,REFUSED on at least two occasions to confere with assistant public defender to talk about evidence. My wife and I were co defendents. Because of my anxiety ,ignorance of my rights as far as attorneys go, I now have a record that even though is only misdemeanor ,has hindered my opportunity a few times for jobs and housing,because the wording of the charge makes me look like a scum bag. P.s. I was in contact through out whole ordeal with assistant public defender, and did consult with him,and he agreed to share with Ms Madsen,but she did not accept
