The parties in this case were married for a period of approximately four years and had one minor child. The defendant husband, who was approximately 30 years the plaintiff wife's senior, owned or had ...an ownership interest in approximately seventeen business entities and was the grantor of two revocable trust funds.
The court ordered the defendant husband to: pay non-modifiable, non-taxable, lump sum alimony and to quitclaim to the wife a condominium owned by him or, in the alternative, pay to her the cash value of the condominium. The court also awarded the plaintiff wife significant personal property, including a single piece of jewelry valued at approximately $75,000.00, and attorney's fees and costs.
The court further ordered an upward deviation from the presumptive child support and direct payment of Social Security Dependent benefits to the plaintiff wife.
