Robert Samuel Attardo

Robert Attardo is Special Counsel in the Litigation Department at the firm. He focuses his practice on environmental and construction issues, and business and real estate disputes.  He is experienced in all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods, and possesses significant trial experience. 

Representative Matters:

·     Successfully defends claims of environmental contamination against one of the world’s leading energy companies, residential landlords, design professionals, construction contractors and manufacturers involving lead paint, asbestos and various chemical releases

·     Regularly represents all participants in the construction industry (owners, developers, design professionals, contractors and suppliers) in construction litigation, including contract disputes, mechanics’ lien claims, claims under performance and payment bonds, and trust fund claims, on private and public improvement projects

·     Regularly counsels clients with the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts and subcontracts, purchase orders, standard terms and conditions, and credit applications

Community Involvement:

Mr. Attardo is President-Elect of the Rochester Rotary Club, one of the oldest and largest Rotary Clubs in the world.  He will serve as President from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. 

For more than a decade, Mr. Attardo also has been volunteering with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, serving on a Gala fundraising committee, participating in “jailbird” Lock-Ups, and volunteering annually at the Jerry Lewis Telethon. 

In the past, he served as a community member of the Board of Directors of the Rochester Oratorio Society, on the Board of Directors of the Cornell Club of Rochester, and for many years, as a Cub Scout Den Leader.
