Katherine Helene Mcguire

Katherine H. McGuire  is a registered patent attorney and a partner in the firm's Business & Finance Department and a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group.  She concentrates her practice on negotiating and preparing agreements relating to Intellectual Property including IP license, technical service, confidentiality and consulting agreements.  Ms.  McGuire has experience in all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent procurement, infringement and validity analysis with an emphasis in mechanical arts.  

 

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. McGuire was a partner at Jaeckle Fleischman and before that she was Senior Patent Counsel at Bausch & Lomb Incorporated.  She began her legal career in 1989 at the McGuire Law Offices in Syracuse, NY concentrating her practice in Patent and Trademark law.

 

Community Involvement:

Ms. McGuire works as a Volunteer Attorney for Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County.

Ms. McGuire is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; New York State; U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit; U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York; and the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York.

 

Professional Affiliations:

Ms. McGuire is a member of the American Bar Association, Intellectual Property Law Section; American Intellectual Property Law Association and The Rochester Intellectual Property Law Association (Past-President and Governor).

 

Ms. McGuire is the Chair of The Rochester Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society.
