A plaintiff's attorney he is not

I hired James Grossman in October of 2003. I was referred to him because of his expertise in real estate. I was experiencing severe nuisance water issues related to a development that went in behind me on a hill. I came to learn of the problem only upon visiting my healthcare provider. While Mr. Gr...ossman was retained I was forced to leave my home due the toxic mold. Mr. Grossman attempted to backdate my claim saying it was pointless to pursue as my neighbor was also made ill. Yet he appeared to misinterpret this fact because it was only after I had been alerted by my doctor that I came to realize my neighbor's plight. ( He subsequently sold his property and now a second family has become ill). Mr. Grossman never filed any legal paperwork on my behalf essentially almost allowing my claim to lapse. What I never understood is that Mr. Grossman is at heart a defense attorney and never had any interest in properly defending me. Later he teamed up with an insurance defense lawyer who represents the Town who improperly permitted this development in. My advice is to ask this important question of your council are you a Plaintiff's attorney or are you an attorney who represents or defends clients.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
