Michael Lee Calvete

I was very distraught after our-family case was lost. I feel and believe my case was lost due to his failure to cross examine the lying witness. He had recently informed me that this was somehow my fault. Mr. Calvette,never fully explained the laws position on this issue to me. I hired him for ...a family related case. I experianced first hand Mr.Calvette's rude, caustic, demeanor . During an emotionally charged and sensitive time for me . He treated me with contempt, was inconsiderate, callous,arrogant, and unpleasent to work with. On Numerous occasions he had me in tears. I would have fired him on several occassions but I continue on ,because so much time and money had already been spent on this debacle. He would often criticized me personally in matters pertaining to my dealings w my family. He was not supportive and showed on numerous occassions, that he sided w the other parties, after he had taken my money to represent my side .I was betrayed! I feel, he misled me by dragging out the court proceeding , to waste more time and my money. It felt like a back room verdict to me. Had he been honest about his feelings regarding the case and explained my legal rights in New York. I would not have pursued it. I feel he did not represent me in a good light. I also feel I was misled by him and he wasn't acting loyal to my side either. Perhaps he is adequate in other areas of law . However he did not help me and I truly hope anyone thinking about hiring him for a family issue 's think again. He seemed to be easily swayed by the other party, not a good attribute for an attorney representing you .to display. He should have remained impartial and focused on the laws pertaining to the case. I believe if he had done that I wouldn't have lost this important right. I hope this helps some other person . I hope to help others avoid a most unpleasant and costly mistake by hiring him . During our hearing , Mr. calvette in my belief was inept at cross examination and appeared slow, and confused . He often paused for several minutes appeared helpless as he fumbled with his papers for several minutes while the onlookers in the court room tried not to fall asleep. He appeared disorientated and did not ask key questions of the witnesses , after we had spent hours going over these important issues. I believe that lost the case for my family. His aggressive nature was directed at me an older woman and he intimidated me. He seemed to enjoy this. He seemed misogynistic . His aggressive nature ,was never utilized in the court room where it could have done some good. His ability to remember important information was a travesty. During the proceedings he often failed to question the other side and out right ignored my insistance on certain cross-examinations questions .He wanted to call all the shots and not listen to me the old woman and for that I paid dearly. His old fashioned misogynistic approach to me won't be forgotten !! He insisted on numerous , costly meeting 's then during our court appearance he forgot or chose to omit information , relayed to him during said meetings. it is my opinion that Mr. Calvette is not an attorney I would recommend . I truly state that this is my opinion and represents my experiance with him.
