Jan 12, 2009OUTCOME: Judgment for Defendants
In this case, Plaintiff was hit by a vehicle operated by our client while Plaintiff was a pedestrian crossing Route 30 in Vernon, Connecticut. Our client was driving at 38 mph one second prior to the ... collision and Plaintiff sustained very serious personal injuries as a result of the accident, which rendered her left arm useless. Other injuries sustained included a T-12 compression fracture, a kidney laceration, facial lacerations and injury to the jaw. Plaintiff filed an Offer of Compromise in the amount of $350,000. The Connecticut Superior Court (Aurigemma, J.) found that our clients, the operator and the owner of the vehicle that hit Plaintiff, were not negligent in connection with the accident and that Plaintiff failed to use reasonable care in crossing the subject roadway. Accordingly, judgment entered in favor of Defendants.
