As we all know divorce can be a very ugly and tough time. Alex kept me grounded and focused on what were the important things that needed to be done. She looks at the long game, and is patient (much more patient that I was being). She knows the laws inside and out. She will fight for you and you litt...le ones for what is fair and safe.

My experience with being represented by Alexandra has been nothing but exemplorary!! I feel that she represented me to the best of her ability based on the laws/guidelines that are in place regarding a divorce. She was always looking out for my best interest and kept the opposing party from reciev...ing an unfair settlement! She was also very affordable considering the opposing party paid five times more then what my total fees ended up being!

So glad I chose Alex after having to go back to court again after my divorce was finalized. She is very knowledgeable of the law and was very easy to talk to regarding my concerns. Her staff were always extremely helpful and also well-informed regarding my case. Due to her diligence we were done... quickly and with great results. Not to mention her fees are very reasonable. I have recommended her to several people ever since and they have had great results as well.

She got me in to an appointment right away and sounded like she really would be helpful in my case. She sounded concerned and talked a good game about all the ways I could do great in court and how easy the case was for her. In our very first appearance in court and she sounded really unprepared. The... other lawyer walked all over her. It was so bad and I was embarrassed. Outside of court she she just complained about the other lawyer not doing this the right way or not doing that the right way or was not filing the right papers but none of her complaining mattered because the other lawyer made her look bad in court every single time. She made ME look bad. All my phone calls to her office didn’t get answered and she didn’t call back so I had to call 4 or 5 times over three weeks evwrytime I had to talk to her. Moths and months of going back to court and lots of talk from her but in the end she gave up and told me to settle. I could have done that without going to court at all and just got the same thing in the end without paying a huge bill. Oh yeah- she saves the biggest bill for the end! Surprise!

Ms. Burkett sold herself well in our first meeting. She was agreeable and acted compassionate. In hindsight, I feel she was not sincere. I hired her for a divorce that should have been quite simple. As soon as I retained her, things seemed to change. Her paralegal handled all communication (Ms. ...Burkett never was available unless I scheduled a face-to-face meeting). She seemed very unprepared for court, many times acting confused when I referred to the legal documents that her office (obviously her paralegal) prepared. She was always late for court and would then rush in, straight past me into the room with the judge and the opposing lawyer, leaving me in the waiting room and in the dark. I would never be advised of her strategy before court. She delayed proceedings and seemed to be working against me. Many times I felt she was my adversary instead of my representative. It didn't appear that she was listening to my opinions or wishes. Her bill ended up being several thousands more than she quoted me. It also seemed like it took a very long time to get a separation agreement and to finalize. In such a highly emotional situation as a divorce, I would avoid this lawyer. Her lack of attention is upsetting. Seriously, AVOID Alexandra Burkett.
