The federal jury ... found that a Las Cruces Police Officerhad used unreasonably excessive force in violation of the 4th Amendment right and committed a battery in violation of New Mexico State law. The jury also found that a second Las Cruces Police Officer had committed an unlawful seizure and arrest in violation of the 4th Amendment. The jury returned a $1,600,000 verdict.
