Thomas Richard Augello

Tom Augello received his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo Law School in 1978 and began his distinguished legal career with Little & Burt, counsel to Buffalo Savings Bank. When Little & Burt merged with Saperston & Day, he continued to serve as counsel to Goldome Bank, gaining significant experience handling residential and commercial real estate closings and title work.

In 1980, Tom joined Block & Colucci, P.C., where he honed his expertise in real property law, conducting residential and commercial closings for major financial institutions including Fleet Mortgage Corp., Chase Lincoln First Bank, Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, Central Trust Company, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. His work also extended to complex transactions like Erie County Industrial Development Agency bond closings and construction loan closings for developers.

His talent and leadership led to his partnership in 1982, and by 1984, he was Senior Partner and Chairman of the Real Estate Department, responsible for hiring, training, and supervising closing attorneys in offices across New York State.

In September 1988, Tom became a partner at Augello & Matteliano, LLP, where he continued to concentrate on commercial and residential real estate and banking law, representing prestigious clients such as The Chase Manhattan Bank, Norwest Mortgage, Charter One, Bank of America, and M&T Bank.

Since then, Tom has founded The Augello Law Firm, P.C., based in Amherst, New York, where he now leads the practice, continuing his lifelong commitment to excellence in real estate and banking law.

Tom is also an active member of the Western New York Advisory Board of Directors of Ticor Title Insurance Company and serves on the Erie County Bar Association’s Real Property Committee. He has been a guest lecturer for continuing legal education seminars and authored articles for The Buffalo News Homefinder. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association for the Faculty of Law and Jurisprudence at the University at Buffalo.
