While the bar denied liability, a toxicologist hired by the law firm concluded that the intoxicated driver would have shown signs of visible intoxication when she was served alcohol. There was a prior settlement with the drunk driver.

Our client was falsely accused by a former girlfriend of assault and theft. He spent a few days in jail and incurred over $10,000.00 in legal fees defending the charges. Ultimately, the charges were di ... smissed. Norton, Bowers & Hofstra, P.C. pursued claims against his accuser for slander, malicious prosecution, abuse of process, and outrageous conduct. A trial was held in Jefferson County District Court where over 15 police officers and multiple witnesses testified. The Court found in favor of our client and ultimately entered an award on all claims. The judgment was filed with the county and when the defendant attempted to re-finance her property, the judgment was collected in full.
