Daniel Robert Norton

Daniel R. Norton is a Partner at Hinman, Howard & Kattell, and is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Construction Law practice groups. Dan’s practice includes Commercial and Residential Foreclosures, Commercial and Residential Eviction, Creditors Work in Bankruptcy and Estate Litigation.

Dan has appeared before the United States District Court, Northern District of New York, the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of New York, the New York State Appellate Division, Third and Fourth Departments, and the New York State Supreme Court.

Dan is the President of the Board of Directors for Broome County Habitat for Humanity, the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Tri-Cities Opera, and a member of the Board of Trustees for WSKG. Dan is also a past-President of the Broome County Bar Association, past-president of the Board of Directors for the Binghamton Philharmonic, and a past-president of the Board of Directors for the Magic Paintbrush Project (Jan. 2012-Aug. 2013).

Dan has been an Attorney Advisor for the Maine-Endwell Mock Trial team since 2008, and is an Alumnus of the Broome Leadership Institute (Class of 2011).

In 2012, Dan was selected as one of the Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition’s “20 in their Twenties”. In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Super Lawyers named Dan as a Rising Star in Upstate New York.
