Suit v. Motorcycle Helmet Distributor and Retailer
N/AOUTCOME: After a lengthy mediation, the case resolved for $300,000
Our client was cut off by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle. Upon applying his brakes to avoid the vehicle, the bike went down and he skidded underneath the back tire of the car. The car rode over ... his head, causing him massive injuries. We were quickly able to resolve the case against the girl that was driving. we made a claim against the helmet manufacturer and distributor. It turned out that the client was wearing a novelty helmet that provides little protection to the head. However, the helmet was sold in a motorcycle store. Our argument was, if the helmet was a novelty helmet, why was it being sold in a store that focused on motorcycle riders.
