I am a local businessman, father and a member of my community. Two years ago an overzealous Town Cop arrested me for larceny with thin if any evidence. The case made the front page of the paper making me appear as a common criminal thus embarrassing me and my family. The officer was clearly attemptin...g to harm me and abused his authority. I hired John Maya to defend the charges and I'm glad I did. John quickly dissected the facts, applied his knowledge of the law and exposed the true intent of this rouge Officer. I would have been happy to get the charges dismissed, John was so effective that he got the charges WITHDRAWN. Clearly some of the best money I ever invested.

My case was only a misdemeanor, so you would think, for the $800.00 it cost me, that I would be represented well, but this wasn't the case. Oh how he bragged that he had had such a good record, defending clients, in the court, where I appeared, but my case was different than the others, as I had a p...revious record. First of all he failed to show up, at court, a couple of times, a stalling tactic, I assume and a couple other times the assistant D.A. wasn't there, so postponed again those times, I guess he had to show me that he was earning the money, yet he hadn't done anything substantial yet. Then the climax of the whole case ended, when he finally met with the assistant D.A. and it wasn't as he had stated it would be and ended with me not getting such a good deal, in fact he only spent around a half hour talking with the assistant D.A., so not very much effort put forth defending me and I believe I was cheated and not represented to the best of his ability !!

Mr. Maya spent $15,000 with no resolution to our property issue. He requested a property survey and when we asked for a copy we never received one. We had paid separately for the survey. When we asked him for a detailed accounting of the money we had given him as a retainer, what he gave us did no...t demonstrate what was spent on what. We could not see where the $15k was spent. When it was time to go to court he wanted another $5k. He never returned phone calls and when he did he talked so fast that it was hard to follow what he was saying. We are all professionals and understand professional responsibility. We were completely frustrated and disappointed in his representation.
