National Bank of North America v. Hallwood
N/AOUTCOME: Successful
This was an action to enforce an Ohio judgment in Los Angeles County against the owner of a major Southern California shopping center. The judgment was in excess of $6M; the judment debtor avoided all ... contact with my client. I got a Writ of Execution on the sister-state judgment, but needed to find an account for the sheriff to attach. I am a philatelist and went to a stamp store that was a tenant. I talked to the owner anddiscovered he was not fond of the landlord. He was happy to give me the banking information on the back of his rent check. Ihad the center's bank account attached on the fifth of the month; I successfully calculated that the account would be full of rental receipts. The judgment was satisfied in full.
