Plaintiff Sophia Wood ("Wood"), a minor, filed this negligence action seeking to recover for personal injuries suffered in a swimming pool at a hotel operated by defendant Catania Hospitality Group, In ... c. ("Catania"). Following a four day trial, on September 17, 2014, a jury found in a special verdict that Catania was negligent in operating the pool and that such negligence was a substantial contributing cause of Wood's injuries.However, the jury also found that Wood was 50% negligent with respect to her injuries. The jury awarded Wood $25,000 in damages and found that her mother, Sarah Nagle ("Nagle"), did not sustain loss of consortium damages.
