Medical Malpractice -- Blindness
Feb 18, 2018OUTCOME: $ 3,000,000
An optician incorrectly diagnoses the cause of our client's blurry vision, despite a handwritten note from another medical provider that the client was suffering from a serious medical condition that c ... an cause permanent blindness. Instead of addressing the emergency condition, the optician increases the strength of the client's prescription glasses and tells her to come back in a year. Two months later she is irreversibly blind. In deposition, the optician had no plausible explanation as to why he didn't identify and address the medical condition that led to our client's blindness.
