DUI with Serious Bodily Injury; Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Bodily Injury; Hillsborough County Disposition: Client was charged after he was involved in an accident and left the scene. The Def ... endant was at fault in the accident. Our client was facing close to sixty (60) months in Florida State Prison under the Florida Sentencing Guidelines as a result of this incident. After extensive depositions and negotiations with the State Attorney’s Office, client ultimately plead to two years of community control followed by three years of probation, meaning NO PRISON TIME.

OUTCOME: Case dismissed.

The Defendant was in her vehicle when law enforcement conducted a traffic stop for illegal window tint and a cracked taillight. As Law Enforcement approached the vehicle they observed an individual mov ... e from the driver's seat to the rear seat and another person move from the rear seat to the driver's seat. When Law Enforcement approached the driver's seat they saw the Defendant seated behind the wheel. An odor of marijuana was detected by Law Enforcement and both occupants of the vehicle were ordered out of the car and a search was conducted. Law Enforcement found marijuana in the center console of the Defendant's vehicle. They also claimed that the Defendant admitted to owning the marijuana after being read her Miranda Rights. After reviewing the case we filed a Motion to Suppress which caused the State to drop the charges completely.
