Undaunted, LLF worked with co counsel and secured a 3.25 million dollar settlement. LLF was also able to secure over 1.5 million dollars in workers compensation benefits and assisted the client recover social security disability benefits. Undaunted, attorney Chad Lawrence filed a Federal Court action and convinced the Federal Court the judge made the wrong decision and the case was sent back for another hearing. the claimant moved to Georgia, but attorney Lawrence wanted to finish the job, so he drove up to the hearing office and won the trial. The client is extremely happy.

An LLF client was injured on the job in 2014. The employer denied she was injured at work and refused to pay for her much needed back surgery. The client ultimately used health insurance to pay for h ... er back surgery. Frustrated with the "run around" she hired LLF. Mr. Lawrence immediately contacted the surgeon to see if he would agree the surgery was related to the fall at work. He agreed. The day before trial, the insurance company defense attorney caved and agreed to accept the case as work related. The workers compensation carrier then paid the claimant all of her back pay, paid the health insurance company back for the cost of the surgery and agreed to provide her future workers compensation benefits. Six months later we settled her workers compensation for six figures and then filed a claim for Social Security Disability as the claimant was 59 years old. We won the case without having to go to a hearing based upon our brief setting forth the claimant's disability.

OUTCOME: WON HEARING AND SECURED SSDI BENEFITS FOR MAN INJURED IN 2000

LLF was retained by a large insurance company to help a workers compensation client secure Social Security Disability benefits. The claimant was injured in 2000 and stopped working in January 2001. U ... nfortunately, the claimant failed to timely file his SSDI appeals and gave up on the case. He was awarded permanent total disability benefits by the workers compensation carrier and decided to just live off of those benefits. LLF was contacted by the insurance company providing the comp benefits to see if we could secure SSDI benefits. Unfortunately, the claimant's date last insured was December 31, 2003, so we had to prove he was disabled before that date. LLF reviewed a mountain of medical records and met with the workers comp doctors and was able to secure opinion testimony that the claimant was disabled as of January 1, 2001. LLF filed an extensive brief outlining the medical history to assist the Administrative Law Judge in rendering a decision. The hearing lasted approximately 20 minutes and the judge granted the benefits and accepted the onset date of January 1, 2001. By far one of the most gratifying victories in 30 years of practicing law.
