Biography
Marissa Winch graduated cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University in May 2020, where she was honored with the Matrimonial Law Prize for achieving the highest grade in the course.
Following her admission to the New York State Bar in April 2021, Marissa commenced her legal career as a legal intern at the Washington County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure, she contributed to various legal proceedings, including witness preparation, court appearances, and securing convictions.
Driven by her passion for Matrimonial and Family Law, Marissa pursued an internship at The Colwell Law Group, LLC during her second year of law school. Her dedication and proficiency led to her promotion to Law Clerk upon graduating, and she now serves as an Associate Attorney. At Colwell Law, Marissa has excelled in drafting pleadings, client communication, and legal research, while also earning recognition as a ‘Rising Star’ by Super Lawyers in Upstate New York for 2023 and 2024.
Prior to attending Albany Law School, Marissa earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from The University at Albany, SUNY in 2017.
Marissa is thrilled to continue her legal journey at The Colwell Law Group, LLC, and looks forward to furthering her expertise in Matrimonial and Family Law. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, beloved dog Zora, and cat Stanley.
