My husband and I reached out to attorney David Batchelder after several closed doors. Not everyone wants to take on Federal employee cases and my husband’s was complicated. After a phone screening by Mr. Batchelder’s legal assistant Olga, we got an appointment and went to see the attorney. We were gr...eeted warmly, and without any judgement. Mr. Batchelder made us feel at home and he was so easy to talk to. He laid out everything we should expect and a realistic timeline. In the weeks and months to come we received regular communication from Olga (super warm and friendly). Whenever we had any questions, Olga or David himself were quick to respond. After a year and a half of follow up, paper work, medical visits and a lot of patience, our case finally settled with a very favorable outcome for my husband. I can’t imagine having gone through this process with anyone other than David Batchelder and Olga Mejia. They made an overwhelming process manageable and tolerable and we never felt alone through it all. We highly recommend David Batchelder for his honesty, integrity and professionalism.

I retained David Batchelder and it was one big mistake on my part. I had already been through the disability process with the court and ALL the paperwork had been done previously. It was just a formality to appear before the judge, as I had learned I was already approved for benefits and the only thi...ng I was lacking was a lawyer to represent me. I briefly spoke with David Bachelder over the phone and signed a contract with him through the mail. I met him the day of my hearing. We appeared before the judge and I was immediately granted SSDI and all back payments. Afterwards, it was taking forever it seemed to get my benefits. But every time I tried getting in touch with David Batchelder, he would not return any of my calls. Long story short, I finally get my back pay, and find out that this attorney ignored our contract ($3000 fee), drew up a new contract without telling me, and first asked the judge to grant a fee of over $19,500!!, and that is what held up my benefits. The fee was eventually caught by SSDI. Batchelder then re submitted paperwork asking for $10,000, and for some reason it was granted to him. I finally found out about the discrepancy, tried to argue it, but it was too late. And if he did it to me, he's done it before and will do it again. Now I am out thousands of dollars. I wish I had found an honest atty.
