I helped mediate a case where the fighting, anger, and bitterness between the couple was so bad they were disparaging their spouse to their children. They weren't able to be in the same room. They call ... ed me on a recommendation from a friend. I was honored to mediate their case. Using Nonviolent Communication and my Restorative Justice training, the couple was able to show up in alignment with their values, stop the damage to their children, and at the end of the mediation they made plans to have Thanksgiving together with their children. Their divorce was swiftly completed and their bitterness was replaced by their individual plans for their futures.

I was able to listen with presence to both of them, then helped them speak to each other without judgment so they could focus on repairing the harm and getting back to work. They were able to reach an out-of-court settlement that not only resolved the problem but repaired the relationship.

She has protection for her creation as well as the peace of mind knowing she won't be sued without the parties trying to work it out first.
