Steven Teague is currently a partner at the newly reorganized Bavoso Law. Steven is a graduate of The University of South Carolina (’04) and Columbia Law School (’10). While at Columbia, Steven served as a staff member with the Columbia Journal for Gender and Law. He developed a passion for nonprofit advocacy during and after his time at college and law school, earning an Outstanding Service Award from the New York State Court’s Access to Justice Program.
Steven's primary practice is helping clients receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. Before joining Bavoso Law, Steven worked at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) as a Disability Advocacy Program (DAP) attorney, fighting for the rights of claimants to receive disability benefits that provide an invaluable safety net.
Also while at LSHV, Steven worked as a housing attorney, advocating for tenants in evictions. Currently, Steven now advocates for landlords in the same types of proceedings.
Finally, Steven also works with clients in probating or administering the estates of loved ones.
Steven is presently a licensed attorney in New York State but can practice before the Social Security Administration in all 50 states.
