We were hired in a real estate fraud case in which a business partner went behind the back of our client to purchase the real estate properties for himself that they both co-owned. The case had been in ... litigation for six years when our client's lead attorney died. We took over with other attorneys and tried the case. The judge struck our experts and did not permit us to suggest a number to the jury on closing argument. Despite this, the jury returned a verdict in favor of our clients.
